School Adds Gallery to Campus
The Caepe School, located at 42212 North 41st Drive in Anthem, invites local residents to the pre-grand opening of the Anthem Art Gallery from 2 - 4 p.m. on Nov. 15.
Attendees will be able to participate in the creation of a community art piece that will be donated to The Caepe School at the gallery's official grand opening.
The Express Yourself! Contest will be announced giving participants a chance to submit any visual art form that represents what they love about living in Anthem.
Three winners will receive prize and have their art pieces featured in the gallery during the grand opening.
Other activities on tap are children's arts and crafts as well as dessert and refreshments.
The concept of creating an art gallery as part of The Caepe School came from Tamara Lee, head of The Caepe School.
"I am always looking for unique ways to make our students learning experience more comprehensive. I am also a huge advocate for arts in school, so the decision to incorporate an art gallery was an easy one," said Lee.
The Anthem Art Gallery at The Caepe School will feature various artists work for the public's viewing pleasure and purchase, but it will also be the site of art classes for all ages several times a week on top of being a constant resource for students at The Caepe School.
Although the Anthem Art Gallery is part of The Caepe School, The Gallery will have retail hours, and art classes outside of school hours. Gallery hours will be by appointment only Sunday through Friday, and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Each class at the Anthem Art Gallery will last six weeks.
The open class schedule is as follows:
*Monday - Adults and Seniors 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
*Tuesday - Children (ages 8-12) 3:45 - 5:15 p.m.
*Thursday - Tweens and Teens (ages 12-16) 3:45 - 5:15 p.m.
*The fourth class on Wednesday afternoons will be dedicated to a class from The Caepe School.
