The Caepe School Welcomes High School Freshman for the 2010/11 School Year

The Caepe School

The Caepe School, a private school that teaches in multiage classrooms, will welcome high school freshman to their campus for the first time in the 2010/2011 school year. The Caepe School is the only private, non-denominational school in Anthem. Since its opening in fall 2008, The Caepe School has taught only students in grades K-8, but as their eighth-grade students transition into high school, The Caepe School will be transitioning right beside them.

Ninth grade will be added in the 2010/11 school year, with successive grades being added each additional year. The Caepe School’s first senior class will graduate in 2014. The founders of The Caepe School, Tamara and Darren Lee, began with the intention of having the school grow with their students.

"High school was something we have both wanted for The Caepe School from the beginning," said Darren Lee. “We know high school students bring a whole new dynamic to our school, and we cannot wait to welcome them.” The Lees expect the majority of their current eighth-grade students to continue onto high school with them, but also plan to welcome many new students to The Caepe School.

Although the high school students will be sharing a building with the elementary school students, there will be a separation between the lower school and the upper school. “Starting high school is a major milestone in a child’s life,” said Tamara Lee. “As our eighth graders move into ninth grade, we want them to experience that transition and give them a little bit of the independence kids need at that age.”

Location, Location, Location
The 2010/11 school year is a big year for The Caepe School. Not only will they begin working with their first high school students, but they are hoping to be teaching in a brand new space. The Caepe School is looking to move to a stand-alone building, which would give them much needed space for increased enrollment, a playground, a library, a larger art studio and more. "The Caepe School has grown so quickly in only two years thanks to plenty of hard work and a great deal of support from the community," said Tamara. "We couldn’t be more proud or more excited for the next school year."
